Skyscraper Peak from east ridge, 07-18-09
From near the Hessie Trailhead, we started hiking at 7:16, taking the first right onto the Devils Thumb Bypass Trail, and reaching Devils Thumb Pass at 10:10.
From the Divide, we went south for about 1/2 mile, then east to the summit. We reached the summit of Skyscraper at 10:43, with the odometer at 9.26 miles. The summit had a register on it. There were spectacular views of Skyscraper Reservoir, Woodland Lake, and King Lake.
On our return, we headed down along the east ridge, then south to the Woodland Lake Trail.
The total distance traveled on this hike was 17.0 miles, with an elevation gain of 3,400 feet.
