Twin Sisters Mtn (Peaks) (11428 ft), 12/09/2006
The gravel road to the Twin Sisters Trailhead was closed, so we parked at the Lilly Lake Visitor Center. There was snow the entire way, from the Lilly Lake Visitor Center to the Twin Sisters Summit. It became deep enough to slow us down on the last half of the hike. The deepest snow was just below treeline, where I sank in up to my belly button. Snow shoes would have made the going easier, as the guy who followed us had. We only saw three other people during the entire hike. The weather was nice, with not a lot of wind, plenty of sun, and seasonal temperatures.
We started hiking at 11:22, reached the 11413 Benchmark on the north Twin Sister at 13:40, and finished the hike at 16:14.

Elevation change from Lilly Lake Visitor Center to summit of Twin Sisters: 11431 - 8972 = 2459 feet.
