Oregano Flower Buds
Today's picture is oregano (Origanum vulgare) flower buds. The 0.5 mm diameter pencil lead shown in the bottom right indicate the flower buds are about 1-1.5 mm wide, with an ovoid to globose shape. Known as the pizza spice in the United States, it's the primary herb of Italian cuisine. Its oil is also claimed to be antifungal.
