Blue Spruce Needle
Here is a Blue spruce (Picea pungens) needle. A 0.5 mm diameter pencil lead is shown on the lower left for scale. The Blue Spruce is the State Tree of Colorado. An infusion of the needles is used to treat colds and upset stomach by the Navajo and Keres Pueblo Indians.
Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with 49 mm long extension tube.
