Here is a seed of rabbitbrush (Ericameria nauseosa), a shrub of western North America in the sunflower family. Native American tribes have used the plant as an emetic in ceremonies, for yellow dye, for winter horse forage, the seeds for food, and the roots for chewing gum. The seed size is about 0.6 by 4.5 mm.
