Here is the tip of a ballpoint pen. The ballpoint pen is the most used writing instrument in the world. This one is a Bic Cristal, the world's most popular pen, over 100 billion of which have been sold. The ball of this pen is made of tungsten carbide and is 1.0 mm in diameter.
