Germanium Point Contact Diode
Here is a germanium point contact diode in a DO-7 case. Here we can see the thin wire below sticking into the germanium crystal above. The case is 6.6 x 2.4 mm.
Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm) on a 49 mm long extension tube.
