Silverberry Trichomes
Here are trichomes of silverberry (Elaeagnus commutata) at 100x magnification. Like its relative, the Russian olive (Elaeagnus angustifolia), its whitish hue is due to trichomes, or scales, on its leaves. This plant is native to North America from Quebec to the Yukon and south to northern Colorado and eastern Utah.
Equipment used: AmScope M150C microscope with Raspberry Pi camera module V2 (8MP).
