Yellow Salsify Seed
Here is a yellow salsify (Tragopogon dubius) seed at 40x magnification. Both the flower and the seedhead of this plant look like that of a large dandelion. Native to Europe and Asia, yellow salsify is now found throughout the United States and Canada. This seed's dimensions are about 1.2 mm wide by 17 mm long.
