Ponderosa Pine Male Cone
Here is a ponderosa pine male cone, also called a pollen cone, or stamen cluster. It's the structure that produces pollen. The other type of cone produced by the ponderosa pine is the seed cone, or female cone. Both types of cone are found on the same tree. Right click for full resolution.
