Here is a Cooley spruce gall found on a blue spruce in Longmont, Colorado. These galls resemble pineapples and are produced by a tiny aphid-like insect called a Cooley spruce gall adelgid. The insects require a Douglas fir to complete their life cycle.
Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
