Here are cones of Neomexicanus hops (Humulus lupulus var. Neomexicanus) found in the foothills of Boulder County, Colorado. The plant is native to western North America, from Canada to Texas. It is believed to have originated in Mongolia 6 million years ago, reached Europe by 4.5 million years ago, and crossed the Bering Strait a half million years ago.
Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
