Scouler Willow Seed
Here is a seed of Scouler willow (Salix scouleriana), at 40x magnification, found near Lefthand Reservoir in Colorado's Indian Peaks. As is evident from the picture, the seeds are dispersed by wind. Native Americans had many uses for this plant.
