Here is a golden mantled ground squirrel in the Lumpy Ridge area of Rocky Mountain National Park. A native of western North America, this squirrel hibernates in winter and has a lifespan of about 7 years. Picture taken on October 25, 2019.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
