Here is the shrub mountain balm (Ceanothus velutinus) in autumn growing on the saddle between Bear Peak and South Boulder Peak near Boulder, Colorado. Native Americans used this plant for a wide variety of medicinal purposes. This picture was taken on November 5, 2019.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
