Here are the leaves and berries of the mountain ash (Sorbus scopulina) tree growing off the Long Gulch Trail near Boulder, Colorado. Native Americans have eaten the fruit and used the bark for medicine. Birds and bears also enjoy the fruit. This picture was taken on October 1, 2016.
