Here are rose hips from a Woods Rose (Rosa woodsii) found at Hall Ranch Open Space in the foothills of Boulder County, Colorado. This plant is named after Englishman Joseph Woods who was an architect and botanist. In Colorado this rose grows at elevations from 6000 ft (1828 m) to 10000 ft (3048 m). Due to its rose hips, which are up to 1 cm long, this plant can be easily identified even in the winter. This picture was taken on November 13, 2020.
