Mica in Quartz

Here is mica embedded in quartz in the foothills of Boulder County, Colorado. In this picture, the mirror-like mica is reflecting sunshine toward the camera, giving the appearance of being white. From other angles it has a shiny silver colored appearance.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
