On the right is a spiralized apple rind, and on the left is a similar shape produced with a polar plot that is basically r = θ. The Maxima command for generating the plot is:
plot2d([parametric,t*cos(t),t*sin(t),[t,3*%pi/8,35*%pi/8]],[x,-15,15],[y,-15,15]);
The rind was cut with an apple spiralizer.
Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
