Here is an example of exfoliating granite in Deadman Gulch, an arid part of the foothills of Boulder County, Colorado. Exfoliating granite means that layers of granite fall off the rock due to thermal and ice stress. This picture was taken on January 13, 2021.
Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
