Here is yellow lichen growing vertically on rock at Button Rock Preserve in the foothills of Boulder County, Colorado. This lichen appears to be a member of the species Pleopsidium flavum, a lichen that grows in western North America at high altitudes on felsic rock. This picture was taken on January 22, 2021.
Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
