Here is a mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus montanus) branch at the Lefthand OHV area in Boulder County, Colorado. In the picture, the fruits (achenes) are so young they haven't yet curled up as they do when mature. This shrub grows in the western United States and northern Mexico. The photo was taken on June 29, 2021.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
