Flowering Pipsissewa

Here is a flowering pipsissewa (Chimaphila umbellata) off the Fern Lake Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park. This plant is a partial myco-heterotroph, depending on fungi in its surrounding soil for much of its nutrients. The photo was taken on August 28, 2019.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
