Here is a flower-of-an-hour (Hibiscus trionum) growing in our garden in Longmont, Colorado on September 12, 2021. Its name derives from the fact that its flowers stay open for a short time. Originally from the Old World tropics, it's considered a noxious weed in Colorado.
