Here are Rocky Mountain blueberries (Vaccinium myrtillus, aka whortleberry) off the Buchanan Pass Trail in the mountains of Boulder County, Colorado on September 17, 2021. Unlike the commercial variety, these berries are highly aromatic. We can smell them even through a sealed ziplock bag. They are prized by both wildlife and humans.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
