Here are some of the more than 500 dikes radiating out from West Spanish Peak in Las Animas County, Colorado. These dikes were formed at the same time as West Spanish Peak (24.59 million years ago), but the chemistry of the dike's rock is different from the mountain's. Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a standard zoom lens (EF-S 18-55 mm).
