Great Horned Owl

This great horned owl (Bubo virginianus) was perched in our neighbor's tree in Longmont, Colorado on December 13, 2021. The sun was setting, and when we first spotted the owl, it was observing small birds feeding at our neighbor's bird feeder. Birds don't like being watched, especially, it seems, predator birds. So it turned its attention from the small birds to us.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a telephoto lens (EFS 55-250 mm).
