These are what we believe to be honey mushrooms (Armillaria ostoyae) that we found growing at the base of a conifer tree off the Buchanan Pass Trail in the Indian Peaks Wilderness of northern Colorado on September 7, 2022.

Equipment used: Canon EOS Rebel T5i with a telephoto lens (EFS 55-250 mm).
