A collared lizard (Crotaphytus collaris) we met on Dinosaur Hill in Fruita, Colorado on October 11, 2022. When pursued, they can run on their back legs for a speedy getaway. They can be found in the United States from western Arizona to the Ozark Mountains, and south to northern Mexico.
