Here are alpine buttercups (Ranunculus adoneus) we came across off the trail to the top of Twin Sisters Peaks on June 24, 2023. The flowers appear a few days after the snow melts off them, and they last for 10 days. A second round of flowers appears one to two weeks later. This plant was first cataloged in 1863 by Asa Gray.
