Simpson's Hedgehog Cactus

Here are four Simpson's hedgehog cacti (Pediocactus simpsonii) growing near Coffintop Mountain in the foothills of Boulder County, Colorado. These cacti grow in Colorado from the Front Range to the western border, and from the northern border to the southern border. This photo was taken on May 10, 2014.
